Earwax buildup is the #1 cause of sound distortion and speaker failure in BTE wearable audio amplifiers. These wax guards slot into the end of your amplifier's sound tube, catching wax and debris before they can reach the speaker.
Most users need to change wax guards every 2–4 weeks. Signs it's time: quieter sound, increased distortion, or visible wax on the guard. Heavier earwax producers may need to change weekly.
Always keep a spare pack in your amplifier case — a wax-clogged amplifier is effectively broken until you replace the guard.
